CIS reverse charge

Working under a main contractor? Tick the CIS box on the customer’s file and every invoice going to them gets the reverse charge wording, the right VAT treatment and a note the customer’s accountant will recognise. HMRC-compliant, no lawyer needed.

VAT the right way round

Standard rate, reduced rate, zero rate, exempt — pick per line item. Checker adds it up, shows the split on the PDF and hands you a clean VAT report at the end of the quarter that Xero, QuickBooks or Sage will swallow without a fuss.

Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC)

Building work under DRC? Toggle it on and the invoice shows the customer they account for the VAT, not you. The wording HMRC wants is already in there.

Frequently asked questions

Do the invoices meet HMRC rules?

Yes. Every invoice includes your VAT number when relevant, an invoice number, invoice date, tax point, a proper line-item breakdown and the correct wording for CIS or DRC when those apply. Fully HMRC-compliant.

How does the pay-by-card link work?

Connect Stripe (free to set up, standard card fees apply) and every invoice you send has a Pay Now button. The customer taps it, pays by card or Apple Pay, and the invoice marks itself as paid in Checker.

Will it work for a limited company and a sole trader?

Both. Tell Checker which one you are in setup and the invoice layout, tax handling and legal wording all adjust to suit.

Can I take a deposit before I start?

Yes. Set a percentage or a fixed amount on the quote, and the customer pays the deposit when they accept. The balance rolls onto the final invoice automatically.

Does the accountant integration cost extra?

No. Xero, QuickBooks and Sage sync is included in the Checker subscription. You pay your accounts software provider directly for their own account — Checker doesn’t add a middleman fee.
